16th and 17th October 2010 – 48h Open House Barcelona
Discover the interior of emblematic buildings in Barcelona thanks to 48h Open House Bcn.
A great civic and cultural event that plans to open nearly 130 buildings of all kinds, shape and size imaginable for the public to see, held the weekend of 16 and 17 October. An initiative of the non-profit Association of Reversible Architecture.
'Open House' is a simple concept, open to everyone, offering a unique chance to experience the architecture for free. Visitors can see the architecture with different eyes, may speak with the architects who designed the work, and also may participate in any activity that helps them understand what is architecture. The activities of the Open House invites everyone to explore and understand the value of a well built and designed site. This event started in London in 1992, and since then the concept of 'Open House' has been introduced in several cities around the world: New York, Dublin, Galway, Tel Aviv and now Barcelona.
