Madrid Pick of the week 12-18 July 2010

Ne me quitte pas restaurant Madrid

Ne Me Quitte Pas French crêperie (Calle Alburquerque 5)
Ne me quitte pas restaurant MadridThis restaurant combines a perfect peaceful atmosphere at any time of the day, to enjoy a fine Italian coffee, with delicious sweet crepes or salades from the house. At night, the theatrical decoration focuses on dimmed lights that turn the environment in a sort of cabaret-theater or cafe where you can enjoy a good party, cocktails and good company, plunged in French and a Broadway type of music. It lies close to our Fuencarral apartment.

The Wailers take their music to Los Veranos de la the Villa Madrid 2010 (Puerta del Angel – 15 July)
The Wailers started off in the 70´s with Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Bunnywailer as their core and were considered to be the best reggae band of all time. Now missing Marley and Tosh, the band has taken the Jamaican rhythm throughout the world under the baton of Aston 'Familyman' Barrett, wrapped in myth and being the main reference for the bands that were born later.

Season of the Spanish opera presents: "The barber of Sevilla" (Sala Guirau – 15 July)
Near our apartments in Madrid, "The barber of Sevilla" is beyond doubt the best example of small-sized, hilarious Spanish opera with some touches of the famous romance of La primorosa. It tells the story of a young man, desperate to break through in de world of opera, which his parents deny him to do. Briliant music, guaranteed fun and who knows what other surprises may come during "entertainment on a summer afternoon".
