Barcelona’s Gothic cathedral dates back to the 13th century and is dedicated to Santa Eulalia, co-patron saint of the city. According to Catholic tradition, she suffered martyrdom during Roman times in Barcelona.
The cathedral’s façade has been recently restored, and is crowned by a golden statue of Santa Eulalia looking down over the city she protects.
