El "Escorial "and "Valle de los Caidos"

San Lorenzo del Escorial, 40 km northeast of Madrid, is a spectacular palace, basilica and monastery built by Philip II. It is the seasonal residential home of the Spanish monarchy during the sixteenth century and a there is a crypt where there are 26 marble tombs containing kings and queens of the houses of Austrias and Bourbon. Considered a World Heritage Site since 1984, it is highly recommended to be visited.
El Valle de los Caidos, 9 km from the Escorial Basilica and monastery, it is a monument in commemoration of those who died during the Spanish Civil War. This is an awesome place for the large extension and such a fantastic location.
Aranjuez and Chinchón cities
Chinchón and Aranjuez are two very beautiful and nearby cities located to the south of Madrid and are must -see cities, perfect for excursions during a stay in Madrid
Aranjuez, city located 48 km south of Madrid is known as Villa de Aranjuez or the Real Aranjuez site since the arrival of the Catholic Kings. Philip who made it this town's residence for the Spanish monarchy. Notably their palace and gardens are of the Baroque style.

Chinchón is one of the most picturesque villages in Madrid. It is a medieval village that still retains its square, considered one of the most beautiful in the world.
