BETWEEN GRANDIOSITY AND INVISIBILITY

- 800 people: population
-
44 hectares (23 covered by gardens)

This makes Vatican City the smallest independent state in the world by both area and population.

- 500 years ago Vatican Museums Born by discovering the sculpture of Laocoön. Pope Julius II sent Giuliano da Sangallo and Michelangelo Buonarroti, who were working at the Vatican, to examine the discovery. On their recommendation, the pope immediately purchased the sculpture from the vineyard owner.
