The first expansion neighborhood of Barcelona – El Poble Sec, is a lovely quarter that is usually left off by tourists. The district straights from Parallel Avenue to the Montjuic hill and is famous for its pleasant and welcoming atmosphere.

Atmosphere

Even though the area has a barrier with the boulevard Parallel Avenue, its streets are narrower, bringing a calm and unruffled atmosphere for visitors. Among the lively districts in Barcelona, Poble Sec appears as a bass note of a vibrant song.

Except the thoroughfare, anywhere in the neighborhood brings visitors a cozy and comfortable environment. It seems that the neighborhood is never rushed and bustled, residents grab a beer and hang out in a tapas bar, young people lay down and chat in parks and people on the streets casually wander.

Walking around the streets of Poble Sec, guests may discover various restaurants, bar and cafes. Poble Sec is just 15 minutes walking from Las Ramblas – the soul and the most lively street in Barcelona. Favorite spots of tourists and sightseeing such as Sagrada Familia, Paseo de Gracia, Las Ramblas, Plaza de Catalunya or Plaza Espanya can be obtained directly with metro L2 or L3.

Additionally, the region is surrounded by Magic Fountain, Joan Miro Foundation, Castle of Montjuic and National Museum Art of Catalonia. Undoubtedly, you can reach the favorite spots of not only tourist but also locals with just a short walk from the district.

Poble Espanyol

Said as a journey to a Medieval in the middle of Barcelona, Poble Espanyol is an artificial village that lures many visitors to come and explore the Spanish history and architecture. Under the design of Modernista architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch, the village presents 117 traditional buildings and squares from all region of Spain.

Theatre

There are two prestigious theatres in the areas, El Molino and Lliure. Both theatres provide outstanding hosts and artists in the city. Compared to El Molino, Lliure theatre represents a program that is more international oriented. In other words, tourists may feel the shows in Lliure more comfortable and enjoyable. Nightlife

Sala Apolo is a well-known concert hall and nightclub in the area. Founded in 1943, this legendary live music venue has renovated and turned into a new place and gain attention from emerging talents in Europe.
