Science Museum of Barcelona CosmoCaixa
Located near Park Güell, the Science Museum of Barcelona consists of 50,000 m2 shared in 5 floors which makes it one of the largest museums in the city. This place is perfect for families or groups of friends because it is really interactive. You will learn a lot of things while having fun. It houses an exact reproduction of a flooded Brazilian Amazon forest with crocodiles and piranhas, which is unique in Europe.

Tibidabo Amusement park
Do you want to go away from the busy center of Barcelona? You can go to the Tibidabo Amusement park on the heights of the city! Opened in 1905, there are 25 attractions and rides including the Plane, Roller coaster, Plaça dels Somnis, Plaza of Dreams, Gold mine and so on and you will be able to watch great shows as well. Do not worry, if you did not have the time to prepare your picnic for the day, there are various restaurants and cafes but be careful, they are more expensive than in the city. One of the advantages of this place is that there is not much queuing to the attractions so you will not wait for too long to have fun. If you still have time to spend, you can visit the iconic Temple of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. You can take the funicular to join the place that climbs the mountain on a beautiful path.

Illa Fantasia
Less than an hour from Barcelona, Illa Fantasia is a great place to go to escape from the heat of the summer with its 22 slides with a big variety of difficulties and 3 giant pools. In the 70,000m2 area, there is a picnic area under trees to protect you from the sun or if you do not want to prepare your food, you just can go to the restaurants of the aquatic park, or buy something at the supermarket of the park. During summer, there are a lot of people but you can still enjoy the day there because the queues are not that long and if you are in Barcelona at the end of August there is not a lot of people in the park. During summer, the park is open from 10:00 to 19:00 and with the price of the ticket, there is a free bus from the city!

Aquarium
The aquarium of Barcelona is a must seen in the city with its 35 aquariums that contain 11,000 animals from 450 species. Unique in Europe, there is an oceanarium, which is an 80m underwater tunnel with sharks, rays and other large fishes. As well as this, you will be able to see the Underwater Ecosystems, the Tropical Aquariums, the Penguins Habitat, and of course, the Shark Experience where you will be able to dive with sharks if you have a diving license or just dive inside a cage if you do not. Do not forget that you can take your tickets online so you will not wait in the queue.

Zoo
If you like animals, you should visit the Zoo of Barcelona where you will be able to see 2,000 animals from 300 different species like primates, felines, dolphins, tropical birds and so on. It consists of 14 hectares in the Parc de la Ciutadella that is located near the Arc de Triomf in the center of the city. Created in 1872, this zoo has the particularity to contain a petting zoo with farm animals that children can touch. The place is modern because there is free wifi and you will be able to download an App that has a GPS-based map of the zoo. Barcelona’s zoo offers daily activities as the observation of the dolphins, the training of the elephants, and the feeding of the penguins. Take your tickets online so it is less expensive and you will not have to queue up.
