Hemeltjelief Festival: This is something especially great for families coming to town. The Hemeltjelief Festival is a colorful event for kids and grown-ups hold annually at Ascension Day, which is May 29th in 2014. Featuring a wide range of musical and theatrical performances, different events and activities, Hemeltjelief promises to be one great entertainment experience again! From 11.00 am to 23.00 pm DJs will be playing, there are food carts, craft stands to participate etc. – so the whole family will be amused throughout the whole day! Tickets can be bought in presale for 12,50€ or you can get them at the festival door for 15,00€ each.
Rolling Kitchens: It will be a long weekend in food-heaven! From May 28th to June 1st Rolling Kitchens will return to Amsterdam’s Westergasfabriek to please hungry visitors from everywhere. During this five-day-event dozens of mobile kitchens will be populating the area to create one huge outdoor restaurant. If you now might be worried about just getting solid and hearty Dutch meals: relax, there will be something for everybody’s taste! From local cuisine, over Pizza, Burger, fancy new creations to delicate sweets of all kind – Rolling Kitchens promises to be an international food-pleasure! The entrance is free, so you have some extra money to spend on culinary delights – yummy!
Pacha Festival: Almost everybody probably knows about the famous Pacha Nightclubs all over the world. Well, Amsterdam hasn’t his own so far but there will be some high-class-disco-feeling for at least one day: on May 17th the Pacha Festival will flood the city with pumping sounds and a free spirit atmosphere in order to guarantee an amazing time at the Java Eiland in Amsterdam. With Roger Sanchez playing in 2014 the responsible persons have landed a pretty big fish playing at the festival’s third edition, but with names like Benny Rodrigues, Mark Knight or Cassy the whole line-up promises a great show. In addition, there will be an original Hippie Market to shop cool and unique pieces to complete your festival season wardrobe. Ticket prices are from 52,50€ up to 72,50€ and can only be bought be people with the minimum age of 18 years.
Amsterdam Coffee Festival: So far we had some family activities, food and music – what’s now still missing for a complete pleasure is a nice, hot cup of coffee! What great luck that the Amsterdam Coffee Festival happens to be in the Dutch capital in May. For the first time this energizing event is hold in the city and will probably attract a load of caffeine lovers to populate the NDSM Wharf during the time of May 2nd to 3rd. More than 100 international roasters and Co. will be on the spot presenting all different flavors of the omnipresent drink. In addition, some of the world’s best barristas will host workshops and tastings – all of that with great live-music playing in the background.
