Eixample

The Eixample is a famous district of Barcelona between the old city Ciutat Vella and small towns like Sants and Gràcia which is surrounding by. The architecture and the design are what make it unique. The Eixample is characterized by long straight streets and square blocks. This was a visionary, pioneering design by Ildefonso Cerdà, who considered traffic and transport along with sunlight and ventilation in coming up with his characteristic octagonal blocks. Some parts of the Eixample were influenced by Antoni Gaudi. His work in the Eixample includes the Casa de Milà and the Casa Batlló, which are both of them on the wide Passeig de Gràcia. There are many places to visit and a lot of things to see.

Museu del Modernisme Català

Eixample has the greatest modern buildings in all of Barcelona so it is normal that the Museu del Modernisme was established in this neighborhood. It is open since March 2010 and has a great collection of modernist furniture, paintings, and sculptures. This Museum is definitely for those who love art.

Mercat dels Encants

For collectors and bargain-hunters looking for the best price that will be an ideal destination. Palau Robert

This neoclassical palace built-in 1903 is located on Passeig de Gràcia 107 and it was the former private residence of Robert Robert I Surís who was an influential aristocrat, politician, and businessman at the turn of the 20th century. Now it is a public museum with free admission that will offer you a great experience.
