The magician of Catalan Modernism all around you
Eixample is a Catalan word meaning extension: in the middle of the 19th century Barcelona’s population slowly burst the medieval walls that surrounded the city and the engineer Idelfonso Cerdà planned the construction of this new district Eixample which began in 1860.
Still today you can see the linear pattern that occupies 9km2, a grid of straight and perpendicular streets, so different with respect to other more distinctly medieval areas immediately bordering. Eixample is the core of Catalan Modernism.
It's the most elegant area in town, a fashioniable centre of Barcelona, lying on both sides of the Passeig de Gracia, with its famous Gaudí houses and top brand shops.
Casp Apartment in Barcelona is located in the heart of the Eixample district: beautifully designed, it offers three bedrooms and two bathrooms, and all the amenities for a pleasant stay.
Casp Apartment can sleep up to 6 people so is a very good option for families and groups of friends who want to share together the fun of discovering Barcelona, not simply as a tourist.
