Da Vinci – The Genius: exhibition in Madrid

When talking about Leonardo da Vinci it seems like everything has already said and written on, and at the same time his mystery keeps unfathomable.

Leonardo lived 500 years ago in wonderful Tuscan Renaissance. He is still considered the greatest genius ever known, with almost superhuman features.


His talent was enormous, innovative, even out of the expected course of studies and invention. He distinguished himself as a painter, sculptor, architect, mathematician, engineer, botanist, writer…

The exhibition Da Vinci – The Genius in Madrid, through a collaboration with 29 national and international institutions that gave works never exhibited in Spain before, wants to show the lesser known aspects of his great personality.


Centro de Exposiciones Arte Canal hosts texts, drawings, paintings by his disciples, 60 of the machines he invented. You will be introduced to Leonardo’s world by a 3-D film and other audiovisual supports, and then you will walk through the most intimate space of the man, thanks to a reproduction of his working area (Studiolo) which also includes original documents.

Da Vinci – The Genius also includes the world exclusive Secrets of Mona Lisa, an analysis of the iconic painting, conducted at the Louvre Museum.
