This summer 2018, Habitat Apartments is proud to participate in the 6th edition of Check in Solidarity project, in which each reservation is a donation.
Check in Solidarity is a charity project that in which participants donate one euro per each successful reservation in tourism apartments. All donations will go to the social project – Vincles, which provides support for single moms with infants from 0 to 3 years old and families with social exclusion risk and in a vulnerable situation. The campaign is organized by Association of Barcelona Tourist Apartments (APARTUR), in cooperation with Casa dels Infants.
This year, 55 members of APARTUR take part in the Check In Solidarity campaign. In total, 2,260 tourist apartments in the city donate one euro for each reservation made during the period from July 1 to October 1. In the last five editions, the campaign has raised about 66,000 €, helping more than 2,500 mothers and babies.
Check In Solidarity is a joint initiative in the set of collaborations promoted by the APARTUR, aiming for a responsible and sustainable tourism model that reinvest the benefits of tourism in the city's inhabitants.
For 33 years, Casal dels Infants has been accompanying more than 40,000 children, young people and their families that are in serious situations. To support children in poor families get educated and to help their family to seek jobs is the object of the association.
President of APARTUR, Enrique Alcántara believes that "The Check In Solidarity is an initiative that redistributes the benefits of tourism in perfect coexistence with neighbors and gets tourism sector involved in neighborhoods."
Mrs. Balaguer R., General Director of Casal dels Infants, hopes the 6th edition is as successful as the previous editions. She encourages the involvement of companies as it is an example for the social and business sector.
