The best places in Barcelona to visit with kids
You are visiting Barcelona with your children? Want to take them to the places that are interesting for both you and them?
Since we are here to make you stay in Barcelona as wonderful as possible, we have made a list of several places in Barcelona which will amaze you and your kids.
If you are staying just for couple of days, we would recommend you the following places to see. To start your journey, just in the heart of the city, in Port of Barcelona, you will find the famous Aquarium. There, your whole family will be impressed with the exotic types of fishes, just swimming around you, creating a unique atmosphere. Then after, you should definitely visit the Zoo of Barcelona, situated in Born area, because this particular zoo contains more then 400 different species from all over the world, among which you can see rare red pandas or stand just next to the gorillas. Next to the zoo, there is a beautiful Parc de la Ciutadella where you can relax, make a picnic on a sunny day and take your kids to take a picture with a giant mamut.
Not enough? Don’t worry because Barcelona offers so many things to do.
So, in case you are staying a little bit longer and if you have enough time, a great place to go to is Portaventura – one of the best amusement parks in Europe. The park is full of different attractions for children of all ages and, without any doubt, it is the place your kids will remember forever, especially if they are old enough to go to Dragon Khan or to Shambhala.
In case you don’t want to go that far (1 ½ hour away), there is another amusement park on the hill of Tibidabo. So, while your children can try various types of candy from the ‘Happy Puppy’, you can enjoy in the best view of Barcelona. After, on the way back to the center, you can visit Cosmocaixa, the museum of science, an interesting place to see because it presents the science in a really cool way, so it is a great place to learn and have fun in the same time. For example, you can touch a huge ice cube, so that the heat of your palm melts the ice and leaves your own handprint on it, enter in the ‘rainforest’ created inside of the museum or watch the outer space from the planetarium.
Another great thing in Barcelona is the food, so it is time to eat! So, if you want to eat something ‘cool’ and delicious, go to 100 Montaditos! There, you can choose from 100 different sandwiches filled with all sorts of Spanish delicacies like tortilla de patata, alioli or salmonrojo and enjoy in a cosy cheerful ambience. We are sure your whole family will love it!
After all of the activities, the best place to rest is in the apartment in Barcelona, especially in the one you will feel like at home. So, please take a look at the some of our Barcelona apartments that we find the most suitable for travelling with kids:
