Madrid Book Fair

Madrid Book Fair has been organized ever since 1933, and this 76th edition is held in Parque del Retiro from 26th May to 11th June. This year Portugal is the invited country, so the Portuguese essayist and philosopher Eduardo Lourenco opened the program.

The festival is a great opportunity to take advantage of special discounts and to get books signed by their authors. At Madrid Book Fair will be presented up to 367 book stands and 488 exhibitors.

Suma Flamenca

Suma Flamenca festival has been organized for over ten years and it’s become one of the most important flamenco festivals in the world. This year the festival is held from 6th to 25th of June.

The festival is full of dancing, singing and guitar music. At the Community of Madrid’s Suma Flamenca festival you can find something for everyone’s tastes!

Download Festival

During three days from 22nd to 24th of June at Caja Mágica in Madrid is held the Download Festival. It is the most popular metal and rock festival in the UK, and now it will arrive to Spain for the first time! In UK the festival has been organized already for 13 years.

Download Festival brings to Madrid the most powerful groups of the genre, such as Linkin Park, Rage Against the Machine, The Cult and System of a Down.

Escher

This international exhibition focuses on the great Dutch surrealism artist, Maurits Cornelis Escher (Netherlands, 1898-1972). It features 200 works made by Escher, and it can be seen at Gaviria Palace which is one of Madrid’s architectural gems. The exhibition is going on until 25th of June.

The selection of the works goes through Escher’s career showing his interest in maths. The exhibition includes experiments, games and educational resources helping visitors to understand his art and impossible perspectives.
