What is the first thing coming to your mind when you think about Rome? Italian food, music, art, Pope? No matter what it is. In November you can find everything in the city.
Let's start with some religious events. There are two Saints festivals on the agenda next month. On the 1st and 2nd November, the All Saints Day, otherwise known as Tutti Santi, will be celebrated. The main celebration takes place at the cemetery Cimitero del Verano and at Piazzale del Verano. Romans travel to see the pope and to visit family graves at this place.
Martyrdom of Saint Cecilia, Rome
On the 22nd November, the Feast of Saint Cecilia takes place in Rome. This festival is hold to celebrate the popular patron saint of music, who came of a noble Roman family and was martyred. The main celebration on this day, takes place at the Catacombs of Saint Callixtus where there is the Crypt of St. Cecilia as well as a statue of her. There are some other attractive events coming to Rome in November. As a musical event we can recommend you the Roma Jazz Festival 2014. This 38th edition will be in Rome from 14th to 30th November. Have a look at the whole programm of the Roma Jazz Festival here.
The following event is perfect for art and photograph lovers. Fotografia – Festival Internazionale di Roma 2014 is hold every year, and shows over 2000 photographs from 180 artists. At Museum of Contemporary Art in Rome you can visit the exhibtion until 11th January. There are also some special events like meetings, lectures, presentations and screenings.
Pizza at Pinsere Roma
On the occasion of the two thousandth anniversary of Augusto's death, there is the Bimillenario di Augusto exhibition until the 2nd June 2015. There is a lot to see as the Piramide Cestia or the Casa di Augusto.
