October 2016 in Barcelona

 

Barcelona has a lot to offer for the travelers also in October. Here is a guide to the most important events this month.

The start of October doesn’t mean the end of outdoor events in Barcelona. The range of events is wide and for sure there is something for everyone. In October there is going to be events as festivals, street markets and a Champions League football match.

The last Sunday night of October is the end of Day Light Saving Time, also called summer time. Do not forget to turn the clocks one hour back – otherwise you will be one hour too early everywhere.

 

Fiesta Nacional de España

On Wednesday 12th of October is celebration of Spanish National Day. The National Day is a public holiday in all Spain and previously celebrated as “Día de la Hispanidad”. In Catalonia the shops are allowed to be open during the day but otherwise there are no special celebrations in Barcelona.

FC Barcelona vs. Manchester City

On Wednesday 19th of October FC Barcelona is playing against Manchester City at Camp Nou Stadium. The match will be exciting when FC Barcelona welcomes Manchester City to Barcelona for the third time in the last four Champions final rounds.

Bavarian Beer Festival

Wednesday 12th to Sunday 23rd of October is organized a German style beer festival in Barcelona, inspired by the real and original Münich Oktoberfest. In a huge tent is many bars and different kind of beers, live music and delicious traditional Bavarian food. If you are interested in vintage clothes, art, books and other treasures, in district of El Raval is organized a street market every first Saturday and Sunday of each month.
