Be prepared to experience last days of summer in Amsterdam. The city is definitely a magnificent place with several events throughout the whole year. But during the summer months, the Dutch capital becomes even more attractive to visitors. Be inspired by our recommendation, and make your trip to Amsterdam memorable!
On the Roof Film Festival: Would you like to see the latest films of the world cinema? Listening to special interviews with scientists and guest speakers at a unique location? If your answer is "yes", you should definitely go to the On the Roof Film Festival at the VU University Amsterdam where you will have a spectacular view over the city. This year, the festival´s motto is ‘Inspiring Confidence’. From September 1st to 5th, visitors can watch several films (they all start at 21:00) which are preceded by an introductory talk (in Dutch). For more information visit On the Roof Film Festivla site.
Cycling in Amsterdam: If you are planning a trip to Amsterdam, it is definitely a good idea to rent a bike. Discovering the city by bike is the best and most authentic way at all. In Amsterdam, most sights are located in or near the city center. So you can easily experience the beautiful city by biking or walking. Biking is obviously the preferred Dutch way to travel and some would say the only way to truly experience the city.
Waterloopleinmarkt flea market: There is the daily flea market in the city centre with 300 stands where you can find everything you are looking for: from new clothes to second hand and vintage clothes, from books to videos and from souvenirs to old secrets.
