Aeroporto di Firenze-Peretola

The Aeroporto di Firenze- Peretola or formaly called Amerigo Vespucci Airport is one of the airports which is located in the region of Toscana.

The other one is Galileo Galilei International Airport, close to Pisa.


Amerigo Vespucci Airport

From the arrival area of the airport there is a local bus called Volainbus which goes to the Santa Maria novella train station.

Every half hour from 05:30 am to 11 pm there is bus going to the airport and coming back.

It takes about 25 minutes from the airport to this train station which is also the main station for international trains.

The first bus to depart Florence's centre leaves at 5:30am (6am on Sundays and holidays) and the last is at 11pm.

The first bus to depart the airport is at 6am and the last is at 11:30pm.

If you're catching that first early bus from Florence or the nighttime ones between 9pm-11pm, it departs from the corner of Largo Alinari at the station.

All other times it departs normally.

The ticket for the Volainbus costs 4,5 Euro and you can get in all bus tickets shops or tabacconists shop, the bar inside of the airport and at the newspaper stands.

In urgent also the bus driver sell the tickets but a little bit more expensive.


Galileo Galilei International Airport

The Airport which is located close Pisa is about 80 km away from Florence and the best way to get to the city center is by coach or train.

There is railway terminal called Pisa Aerothat is connected with main station of Florence Sanata Maria Novella.

Every day there are about 10 Airport trains which are going and coming back and the ride time is about 45 minutes.

The tickets you can buy in the arriving hall.

The coach  Terravision connects also both stations within 70 minutes.


Note: Just in case you do not find a flight to one of those two airports , there is also a fast train who goes from the Rome central station to Florence central station.
