The Madrid Jazz Festival is back
The Festival will take place in Madrid from 2nd of November to 4th of December. There are many venues, lots of music, many rhythms and languages that are going to stay until the Christmas lights start to shine.
A new hall, 27 concerts and more …
This year the Festival is going to launch a new hall, the Conde Duque Auditorium, a place for 300 spectators, with beautiful architecture and excellent acoustics. The Conde Duque Auditorium hosts 27 concerts, with 28 groups, including eleven Spanish. They represent 11 different countries, Honduras, USA, Argentina, Cuba, Chile, Spain, Australia and Uganda to come first. In the program three special exhibitions will be devoted to Holland, France and Poland. Most of the musicians are young and refreshing.
The scenario of Fernan Gomez will host 15 concerts, with 16 groups of which 5 are Spanish, and represent 3 different countries; Burkina Faso, USA, & Spain.
The Circo Price theater and Fernan Gomez will bring together the biggest names of the jazz world: Pat Metheny, Randy Weston with their deep African roots, Brad Mehldau and Joshua Redman, together for the first time, Madeleine Peyroux, Roy Haynes, exceptional drummer who played with Charlie Parker or John Coltrane, Fred Hersch, one of the most brilliant current pianists or the guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela, who shot to fame as interpreters of the soundtrack of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" and more…
