Día de la Hispanidad

The national day of Spain, which is a day off for the public, commemorates the anniversary of Christopher Columbus's first arrival in the Americas. The national day is celebrated by a huge military parade here in Madrid. The parade is always attended by the Royal Family and presided by the King himself.
