The Liceu Theatre in Barcelona

The Liceu Theatre in Barcelona has been inaugurated in the year 1846 and today, it is the second biggest opera house in Europe. The Liceu is situated in the gothic district of the city centre of Bacelona, directly at Las Ramblas. In the year 1994, the Liceu has burned down and thus needed to be rebuilt almost completely until it reopened 5 years later in 1999. This is how the Theatre looks like today:

Inside the Liceu, a lot of spectacles are taking place almost daily. The Liceu repertoire involves operas, operettas, broadway-dance and even modern classical music. The picture below shows the inside of the opera house, which is definitely worth visiting whilst being in Barcelona.
