Nou Barris, or “nine neighbourhoods” in Catalan, is the most northern part of Barcelona. Obviously, the district originally consisted of nine neighbourhoods. Due to the development of the city, there are actually 13 of them now, and the district covers an area of 8.04 km2, but the original name still stands.
The first expansion neighborhood of Barcelona – El Poble Sec, is a lovely quarter that is usually left off by tourists. The district straights from Parallel Avenue to the Montjuic hill and is famous for its pleasant and welcoming atmosphere.
