"Paisajes de China" Exhibition. La Pedrera. In Example Area.

An exhibition in Barcelona sixteen examples of landscape architecture in China, a country normally seen as a paradigm of the new capitalism.The exhibition, which will be exhibited at La Pedrera until October 1, attempts to show China as a reality pop landscape, beyond the most common presentations that reveal flashes of modernity or simply express a concern to show the transformation that is brutal carried out in recent times, confronted with the limitation of a vital resource as water.
 

Mercé Barcelona Festival.23/09-26/09/2010

Every year close to the end of September Barcelona holds its largest street party, the Barcelona La Merce Festival. This is a Festival  held in honour of Mare de Deu de la Merce, the Patron Saint of Barcelona.The festival, which officially first took place in 1902, bids goodbye to the summer with a bang and welcomes in the cooler months of autumn.
This year  will be hundreds of different activities taking place in all areas of the city.The streets will be filled with events, parades, fire runs (Correfocs), Human towers, fireworks, music concerts, free exhibitions…etc.

Barcelona's Los Caracoles Restaurant. C/ Escudellers,14. Barcelona

Located in Gotic Area, close to our Flor Duplex apartments, there is this popular restaurant. Los Caracoles which means "The Snails" is a popular restaurant  that has to a large degree been "discovered" by the tourists. You can spot the restaurant right away as it has a spit grill in the main entrance window roasting chickens and other meats. The restaurant was named after its specialty however if you don't find this type of food to your tasting don't worry as they offer a wide variety of seafoods and roasted meat dishes with accompanying side dishes and salads.Inside this restaurant you will enjoy an interesting and distinct atmosphere. As you enter through the main entrance you will see the cooks preparing the food. The chefs are proud of their culinary skills and they want to show you they have nothing to hide.

Located in Eixample area, not far from our Pedrera Apartment, The Fundació Antoni Tàpies presents a new selection of works from the Collection that takes as its starting point the work entitled Fusta pintada i rascada (Painted and Scraped Wood), 1960. The work, which is part of the artist’s own Collection, has been lent to the Fundació and will be publicly shown for the first time. Together with the other works in the present selection, the work will demonstrate the importance of materials for the artist.

Close to our " Pedrera Apartment" you can find one of the most recent additions to Barcelona's cultural landscape. The Fundació Suñol was created in 2002 to house the private collection of Josep Suñol, one of Spain's foremost and most prolific art collectors, and make it accessible to the public. Distributed across a 1,000m2, and completely renovated space, the foundation is home to 1,200 artworks. Although clearly international artworks are in character, the collection does pay special attention to local talent and Catalan artists hold a privileged spot. The Fundació Suñol is an unique art centre, a place where the most innovative art movements of the 20th and 21st century come together including artists like: Braque, Picasso, Miró, Dalí, Tàpies, Giacometti, Warhol, Pomodoro, Fontana, Avedon, Man Ray, Jean Arp, Miquel Barceló, Pablo Cargallo, Modest Cuixart, Joan Brossa, Alexander Calder, Eduardo Chillida,…and others.

Andres Calamaro Concert. Razzmatazz. C/ Almogabers. Barcelona

Andres Calamaro was born in Buenos Aires in 1961. At the age of 17 he had his own band called "Raíces" with which he released his first album. He went through several bands and later started his solo career. Now he returns with a new work entitled ´On The Rock´. Not so far to the beach you will find Razzmatazz located.

Close to our Ramblas apartment and located just a few steps away from Mercat de la Boqueria, the Rita Blue restaurant is one of the first places in Barcelona that combines in one atmosphere gastronomy, drinks and dance floor.

The museum, modernized and renovated recently, discover you the history and values that make the Barca 'More than a club'. It has exposed the 6 cups collected during the incleible past year and all the trophies of the history of the club. Also you will find a new multimedia zone with an an audio visual display, a database with an interactive mural, four spaces dedicated to the fundamental values Barca's history and qualifications achieved. Finally, as a temporary exhibition there is a photographic exhibition on the FC Barcelona Foundation.
