La Palangana: This exhibition is considered one of the highlights of PhotEspaña 2014 and definitely a worth-seeing thing to attend. The presentation shows the work of the famous collective called “La Palanga” comprised by some of the most important Spanish artists, which is known to mark a main turning point in the national photography of the 1950s. The collective started to practice something we would today call photojournalism: Vielba, Rubio and Co. showed people in their everyday life working and living, something that was truly revolutionary these days. The exhibition does not only contain their photographs but also portraits of the ten members themselves. The exposition can be admired in Madrid’s beautiful Circulos de Bellas Artes and will be held until August 31st. Tickets – also including access to the magnificent rooftop – are available for not more than 4,00€. Get inspired online.
