This summer 2019, Habitat Apartments is proud to participate in the 7th edition of Check In Solidarity project, in which each reservation is a donation.
Check In Solidarity is a charity project where participants donate one euro per each successful reservation in tourism apartments. The Association of Tourist Apartments of Barcelona brings together over 240 companies representing 7,000 tourist apartments through the city. All donations will go to the social project – Vincles, that provides opportunities for at risk , single mothers with babies under the age of 3 and families with social exclusion risk and in a vulnerable situation. The campaign is organized by the Association of Barcelona Tourist Apartments (APARTUR), in cooperation with Casa dels Infants.
This year APARTUR has 56 companies that take part in the Check In Solidarity campaign. More than 2500 apartments in the city donate one euro for each reservation that was made during the period from July 1st to September 30th. In the previous six editions of the Check In Solidari, APARTUR has raised 86,500 euros and helping more than 2,700 mothers and their newborns.
Check In Solidarity is a joint initiative in the set of collaborations promoted by the APARTUR, aiming for a responsible and sustainable tourism model that reinvest the benefits of tourism in the city´s inhabitants.
For 33 years, Casal del Infants has been standing by 6,000 children, youth and vulnerable families to move into full autonomy.
The President of APARTUR, Enrique Alcántara explains that “ the Check In Solidarity campaign is part of another year of collaborations promoted by the association in favor of a responsible and sustainable tourism model and wants to reinvest the benefits of tourism for the people of Barcelona. “
Rosa Balaguer who is General Director of the Casal dels Infants, congratulates APARTUR on the loyalty and involvement of the Casal dels Infants and is proud of “ an action that is already consolidated and thanks to which Vincles is nourished with economic resources for go forward all year.”
The Check In Solidari campaign has won the Alimara Award this year in the category of Responsible and Sustainable Tourism.
