This festival will offer activities for all the family as theatre, dance, music, and gastronomy. During the 2 first weeks of August, the streets are decorated with flags, lights, and garlands. Local people are preparing since October for them to be perfect. During these Fiestas, there will be parades in the day and concerts with traditional dances in the evening without forgetting the selling of traditional Spanish food as sangria, sardines or churros. The Virgen de la Paloma festival is one of the most popular in Madrid. The main festivities will be on the Plaza de la Paja and around the church of La Virgen de la Paloma. This event is a mix of religious traditions as the procession of the Virgin as well as music concerts and competitions.
