Warhol CaixaForum

CaixaForum is showing an exhibition of Warhol's artworks, his creative development from the beginning as graphic designer until his death.
The exposition contains around 350 of his works, some of his most iconic prints, such as the Campbell's soup can, the portraits of Marilyn Monroe, and many more. Furthermore, visitors can read a selection of essays written by theorists of his work, and private photographs of Andy Warhol taken by photographs, such as Alberto Schommer, Richard Avedon, or Robert Mapplethorpe.
Andy Warhol has revolutionized Pop Art with his mechanical methods, printing popular pop figures, like Marilyn Monroe and Elvis.
The exhibition is open from 1st of February until the 6th of May at CaixaForum, in Madrid.

Carnival in Madrid

Carnival is one of the liveliest celebrations in Madrid. In 2018, the festivity starts on 9th until the 14th of February.
Each year, the city will choose a theme, which will be the inspiration of the carnival programme.
The festival starts with a speech held by a Spanish celebrity from the balcony of Casa de la Villa (Town Hall). Afterwards, the big parage commences with a specific theme, to which everyone dresses accordingly.
Route: El Retiro Park – Puerta de Alcalá gate – Calle Alcalá – Plaza de Cibeles
During the next five days, participants can enjoy a grand ball and fancy dress competition at Círculo de Bellas Artes. In Plaza de la Villa, the Krewes Festival will take place, a celebration with street musicians and groups.
On the last day, the festival closes with a bonfire, symbolising the burial of the sardines.

Casa Decor
Casa Decor celebrates its 53rd edition this year in the Chamberí neighbourhood, in an apartment building spanning 3.100 m2.
This event focuses on the latests trends in interior design, architecture, design and art. Collaborating with over 200 exhibitors, both professionals and firms, during these five weeks artists and companies have rented rooms, which they have transformed into a showcase of their work. Decorators, interior designers, architects, designers, landscrapers, and plastic artists are among these collaborations.
This event attracts all kinds of people of the decoration sector, designers, commercial brands, and the public.
The event takes place between 15th and 25th of February.

Drawing Room Madrid

Drawing Room is the only contemporary drawing festival in Spain. The 3rd edition features 36 national and international galleries, including exhibition and art works, which have never been seen before in Spain.
One of Drawing Room's concept is to revise different current drawing methods based on cultural traditions.
Artists are represented from Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Iran, Israel, and many more. National artists include Sergio Porlán, Javier Calleja, Damià Vives, Nuria Rodriguez, José Luis Serzo, and Miquel Mont.
The event takes place at Círculo de Bellas Artes from 21st until 25th of February.
