Madrid in July is one hot, buzzing place and a time of the year, on which people prefer to slow down, lay in the sun or spend some relaxed hours at cute little bars and restaurants enjoying a cool drink or two. Despite this collective chill-out there are some nice events you really should leave your spot in the shadow for a bit and join into some active fun! Discover the city’s Top 3 events in July and choose your favorite(s).
One Direction Concert: Even though we might risk teenage-girls gasping we still would like to face you with this announcement: One Direction will play two (!) of their highly recommended concerts in the Spanish capital. On July 10th and 11th fans are welcome to populate the Estadio Vicente Calderon to experience the famous British boyband first hand. Be prepared to melt when Harry, Liam and Co. perform their passionate love songs live on stage – and look forward to rock `till you drop to some of their catchy tunes like “Best song Ever”, “Midnight Memories” and many more. Be told that hesitation can be dangerous since the tickets are hot and probably sold out pretty soon. Get some online and pack your fan shirt today!
Madrid Pride: We like colors! So the following event fits perfectly into our list of preferences and happenings to be noted down. Madrid Pride is again right around the corner and ready to spice up the Spanish capital. “Mado” is one of the annual events hosted by the LGTB community all over the world and a series of street celebrations taking place during the city’s pride week. Since Madrid is considered a role model when it comes to tolerance and openness towards the gay community, Mado is one of the most colorful and largest events of this kind in Europe and the world. The city will be filled with good-humored people enjoying parades, exhibitions, concerts, performances, parties and sport events giving the city a unique, urban and multicultural face. A centre of the festival will be the Statewide Demonstration uniting people of all facets and likings cheering for a planet of love. Find more information about this great event on the official website.
Tom Jones Concert: Since we started our list with something more suitable for a rather young audience, it seems just fair to end it with an event that some of our “more experienced” readers might probably meet with enthusiasm. The legendary, the great and one and only Tom Jones will give a concert in Madrid. On July 1st visitors can enjoy Mr. Sexbomb himself live and in color performing all of his famous hits on stage at Palacio de Deportes. Even though the veteran singer counts already 74 years by now – be aware of the fact that this smooth-operator still got game and certainly won’t disappoint you with his performance. Tickets cost between 84,00€ and 106,50€, are luckily still available and can easily be bought online.
