Habitat Apartments – winner of the World Travel Awards 2018

For the fifth time in a row, Habitat Apartments has achieved the prestigious title of Spain's Leading Serviced Apartments Brand 2018!  

Founded in 1993 and headquartered in London, United Kingdom, World Travel Awards™ is one of the most comprehensive and trustworthy awards that aim to “acknowledge, reward and celebrate” excellent businesses across the tourism and hospitality industry. Awards are presented on country, regional and global levels in a wide range of categories, including hotel, airline, travel agency, car rental company and other hospitality providers.

Nomination methodology

While a place on the annual final shortlists of nominees in country and regional levels are gained by either the previous year’s award winner and the two runners-up, vetted approved self-nominations or vetted and approved WTA commendations; the final shortlist of World awards only contains the winners from the corresponding regional award and vetted and approved WTA commendations.

Voting process

An international jury of hospitality experts, principally from the World Travel and Tourism Council, decides the awards presented to hotels and other hospitality providers. The voting process a year-long and is online. The voting is contributed to by qualified executives tourism professionals and consumer travel buyers. While a standard vote carries one point, a verified travel professional vote carry two points. Votes are internally audited to ensure quality, authentication and validity. Approximate 200,000 participants take part in the voting process of the WTA 2018.

WTA Grand Tour 2018

Thanks to its large scale and vast influence, gala ceremonies attract the attention of government, key decision makers, tourism professionals, media and international press. In the WTA 2018 Grand Tour, ceremonies take place in regional levels in the Middle East (Ras Al Khaimah, UAE), Europe (Athens, Greece), Asia & Australasia (Hong Kong), Latin America (Guayaquil, Ecuador), Africa & the Indian Ocean (Durban, South Africa) and North America & the Caribbean (Jamaica). The regional winners, then, compete against each other to become the winners of the WTA  in the corresponding world scale. The WTA Grand Final this year takes place in November 2018 in Lisbon, Portugal.

Europe Gala Ceremony

In the regional Europe Gala Ceremony organized in Athens, Greece on June 30, 2018, the most excellent Europe travel brands are revealed, including Europe's Leading Airline (Lufthansa) Europe's Leading Business Hotel (Hilton London Bankside), Europe's Leading Family Resort (Ria Park Hotel, Portugal), Europe's Leading Ferry Operator (DFDS), Europe's Leading Hotel Residences (Mandarin Oriental, Bodrum), Europe's Leading Resort (Forte Village Resort) and Europe's Leading Safari Tour Operator (Yellow Zebra Safaris).

In the country level, WTA has announced Habitat Apartments as the winner of Spain’s Leading Serviced Apartments Brand 2018. Since 2014, this is the fifth time in a row that we have achieved this certificate of excellence. Other remarkable awards in Spain are Spain's Leading Business Hotel (Hilton Diagonal Mar Barcelona Hotel), Spain's Leading Online Travel Agency (eDreams), Spain's Leading Boutique Hotel (Hotel Palacio Del Retiro, Autograph Collection) and Spain's Leading All-Inclusive Resort (Grand Palladium Palace Ibiza Resort & Spa).
