Festes del Roser
- When: 5-11 of October
- Where: La Rambla
A visit to Barcelona cannot be imagined without taking a walk along the well known La Rambla street. If you are here at the beginning of October, take advantage of the Festes del Roser and see the traditional and authentic side of La Rambla. Celebrating Mare de déu del Roser, the Virgin of the Rosary, the street’s patron saint, this feast offers many many floral decorations, parade, street food and open house events in such museums as Liceu Opera House, Wax museum and Palau Güell.
Sitges Film Festival
- When: 4-14 of October

Although the famous International Fantasy Film Festival does not technically take place in Barcelona, if you are a fan of the genre, you must consider attending, especially as it’s only a short train ride away. One of the main points of the festival is the Sitges Zombie Walk, where everyone dresses up as zombies and parades the streets of Sitges. Scary, isn’t it? But totally worth a visit!
Mercat de Mercats (the Market of Markets)

If you are a foodie in Barcelona, I would say you are pretty lucky. Not only is the city filled with markets, but there is also a fair where several Catalunya’s markets unite into the Market of Markets, where you can stroll through many stalls, buy fresh produce, enjoy street food and participate in various gastronomic activities.

50th Voll-Damm International Jazz Festival of Barcelona

Starting in October and continuing until the end of December, the 50th Voll-Damm International Jazz Festival of Barcelona sure has what to offer to fans of various jazz styles. Tickets to each concert have to be bought separately, but keep an eye on those public free performances if you are on a strict budget, yet still want to hear some jazzy tunes.
