The OBC at the beach
On 21st June at is celebrated the Music Day, and Barcelona is celebrating it with activities around the city. The highlight of the day is the Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya (OBC) concert on the Sant Sebastià beach at 9pm in the evening. The concert is free.
The program of the concert is conducted by Josep Vicent and features famous works by talented composers, such as Romeo and Juliet, Ravel’s Boléro and Shostakovich’s Festive Overture.
Festa Major de la Ribera
La Ribera, also called El Born, neighborhood celebrates its local neighborhood festival from Thursday 22nd to Monday 3rd of July. The festival takes place on the streets and squares of the area.
At Festa Major de la Ribera you can take part in different activities such as concerts, craft fair, and a fireshow at the Fossar de les Moreres memorial. Many years there has been a free entrance into the Barcelona Chocolate Museum during the festival.

Nit de Sant Joan
The St. John’s Eve celebrations are held on Friday 23rd of June. The celebrations take many forms and are held across the country. In Barcelona it is popular to celebrate with neighbors, friends and families by getting together and enjoying meals, music and bonfires.
Plaça de Sant Jaume will be the scene of the Canigó Flame in the afternoon of 23rd June. The flame is received by representatives of the municipal authorities, and after that the representatives goes and lights bonfires in each neighborhood across the city.
After the bonfires are lit the celebrations begin on the streets and squares of Barcelona.
