Sant Marti district

The perfect place for those who want to work, live, go to school and do some sports – away from the noisy city center. Located near the sea, Sant Marti district is attracting people from all over the world!

What to see?
Sant Martí was transformed from the industrial area into the nice and urban district with many modern buildings, of which one is known worldwide. It is the famous Torre Glòries. Formerly known as Torre Agbar because of the initial owner, Agbar Group – a  Spanish company dedicated to distribution and treatment of water. The building was inspired by Montserrat and represents the shape of a geyser rising into the air. With 38 floors it has become the symbol of Barcelona and the icon of the city for New Year celebrations. During the night  4,500 LED lights are laminating the façade making the real light show.

Next to the Torre Agabar is the Design Museum – a relatively new place that is great to visit for seeing decorative arts and design.

Besides the modern facilities, infrastructures and architecture Sant Marti have a few old spots like Sant Martí Church or La Rambla de Prim – a pedestrian street with trees and benches that has become a well-known location for many tourists who wont to relax a bit from the busy city life.

What to do?
Sant Marti is the location of some of the largest and greatest nightclubs in Barcelona like legendary Razzmatazz.
Besides the great nightlife, this district is ideal for shopping. It is home to the Glories Shopping Mall that has around 166 stores in 3 different levels, a cinema, and a huge garage. It also has a large offer of various restaurants and cafe bars.

One more place that is worth visiting is the market in Sant Martí where you can try the fresh local food, delicacies, and specialties. 

Public transportation
The public transport between Sant Martí and the center of Barcelona is pretty good. The best option is to take the tram (Lines T4, T5, and T6), but you can also take on of the metro lines:
L2 – Purple Line at Bac de Roda or St Martí
L4 – Yellow Line at El Maresme/Fòrum or La Pau

Cheap restaurants
