In August Barcelona is bustling of concerts and street festivals.
Mas i Mas Festival
Mas i Mas group have long roots and over 30 years of experience on organizing concerts and music events in Barcelona. Mas i Mas Festival have been held yearly since 2003. This year the festival is going on at various venues in Barcelona from 28th of July until 3rd of September.
At Mas i Mas Festival you can see artists such as Brodas Bros, Frank Sinatra’s by Agustí Burriel, Bernat Català, Eva Fernández, Gus van Sound, and so on. One of the recommendable concerts is Summer Jazz Night with Andrea Motis on Sunday 27th of August.

Football
The football season is starting again, and this month team FC Barcelona plays two games at their home stadium Camp Nou.
Joan Gamper Trophy 2017
On Monday 7th of August at Camp Nou stadium is played the Joan Gamper Trophy 2017. This year the invited team is Chapecoense from Brazil. Gamper Trophy is a traditional FC Barcelona pre-season friendly game and the only event of the year, when all the 98.772 seats at Camp Nou are sold to general public by low prices. The trophy is organized now for the 52nd time.
Chapecoense team members were the victims of the plane crash in November 2016. The team was on their way to play the Copa Sudamericana final in Colombia, when the airplane crashed and 71 people died.
FC Barcelona wants to pay tribute to the people who died and the victims’ families by playing this friendly pre-season game against the Chapecoense team. Chapecoense will present their new players at Camp Nou, so the game is a good chance to meet the new team!

Spanish SuperCopa 2017
On Sunday 13th of August FC Barcelona will play against Real Madrid at Camp Nou stadium. Last season Real Madrid won the Spanish league whereas FC Barcelona won the Spanish Cup, and now these teams will fight for the Spanish Supercopa title in two “El Clásico” matches against each other’s. This is the first El Clásico Supercopa since 2012-2013!
This match is a great chance to see the FC Barcelona’s new player signings for this season.

Festa Major in Gràcia and Sants neighborhoods
Festa Major de Gràcia
The iconic summer street festival of Gràcia neighborhood is celebrated from 15th to 21st of August. The Fundació Festa Major de Gràcia organizes the festival with the help of associations and local residents, by putting together the dances, concerts, decorations of the streets, communal meals and much more.
Festa Major de Gràcia has been declared a traditional festival of national interest by the Government of Catalonia, and awarded the Creu de Sant Jordi distinction. You can read more about the Festa Major de Gràcia from here.
Festa Major de Sants
From 19th to 27th of August is celebrated the street festival of Sants neighborhood. The residents of the neighborhood will decorate the streets and squares, and there will be activities such as the traditional Catalan gegants, castellers and diables.
The Sants main festival dates back to 19th century, and has been held since that in the honor of Sant Bartomey, the patron saint of the village. You can read more about Festa Major de Sants from here.
Caña Presents: Beer Culture
Are you fan of a fresh and cold pint of beer? If the answer is yes, this exhibition at Garage Beer Co. is for you!
Caña Magazine is a new and independent print magazine in Barcelona aiming to honor and inform the local craft beer scene. Beer Culture presents beer related works from nine talented artists from Spain, the UK, the US and Sweden. The works can be seen at Garage Beer Co. until 21st of September.
