Less than an hour from Barcelona, Illa Fantasia is a great place to go to escape from the heat of the summer with its 22 slides with a big variety of difficulties and 3 giant pools. In the 70,000m2 area, there is a picnic area under trees to protect you from the sun or if you do not want to prepare your food, you just can go to the restaurants of the aquatic park, or buy something at the supermarket of the park. During summer, there are a lot of people but you can still enjoy the day there because the queues are not that long and if you are in Barcelona at the end of August there is not a lot of people in the park. During summer, the park is open from 10:00 to 19:00 and with the price of the ticket, there is a free bus from the city!

Aquarium
The aquarium of Barcelona is a must seen in the city with its 35 aquariums that contain 11,000 animals from 450 species. As well as this, you will be able to see the Underwater Ecosystems, the Tropical Aquariums, the Penguins Habitat, and of course, the Shark Experience where you will be able to dive with sharks if you have a diving license or just dive inside a cage if you do not. Zoo
If you like animals, you should visit the Zoo of Barcelona where you will be able to see 2,000 animals from 300 different species like primates, felines, dolphins, tropical birds and so on. Created in 1872, this zoo has the particularity to contain a petting zoo with farm animals that children can touch. The place is modern because there is free wifi and you will be able to download an App that has a GPS-based map of the zoo. Barcelona’s zoo offers daily activities as the observation of the dolphins, the training of the elephants, and the feeding of the penguins.
