400th Anniversary of Madrid’s Plaza Mayor
In 2017 Plaza Mayor, the most important square of Madrid, is celebrating its 400th anniversary. The anniversary will be celebrated with different events and activities. Commemorations of the square started in February with 360o projection mapping that will display the 400 years of history of the Plaza Mayor.
PhotoEspaña organized a project to immortalize the life of the Plaza Mayor square and the people who go there. The project was carried out with some of the most important Spanish photographers in the genre of portraits. Now the photos can be seen at the wall of the Casa de la Panadería (Bakery House) and on giant screens in Callao until 31st of August.

Albert Renger Patzsch – La Perspectiva de las Cosas
German photographer Albert Renger Patzsch (1897-1966) was one of the most influential photographers of the 20th century. During his career he was one of the founders and leaders of the German New Objectivity that was an artistic movement created at the end of the First World War. New Objectivity was a reaction against the Expressionism style, and aimed to represent the world as objective way as possible.
At this exhibition you can see 185 photographs featured by documental material of the work by Albert Renger Patzcsh. The documents and photographs are from his career during the years 1920-1960.

Spanish SuperCopa 2017
On Wednesday 16th team Real Madrid plays against team FC Barcelona. Last season Real Madrid won the Spanish league whereas FC Barcelona won the Spanish Cup, and now these teams will fight for the Spanish SuperCopa title in two “El Clásico” matches against each other’s. This is the first El Clásico SuperCopa since season 2012-2013!

La Liga
On Thursday 27th of August Real Madrid plays against FC Valencia. The game is part of the Spanish La Liga cup.

Veranos de la Villa
Until 3rd of September Madrid will host this new edition of summer festival. The aim of Veranos de la Villa is to share culture with all the citizens from every corner and neighborhood of Madrid. Mission of Veranos de la Villa is that the general public enjoys and has fun!
By participating Veranos de la Villa you can enjoy live music, opera and classics, flamenco, circus and puppet shows, dance, theatre and poetry. Together there will be performed up to 90 activities, taking place at 60 different venues around the city.
